Sequels and Remakes?

h1 Saturday, August 20th, 2005

I‘ve always had a problem with remakes of movies. I am a fan of movies so I love watching the old black and white movies. This is the way to really enjoy movies and the process of making movies. The recent remaking of old movies just doesn’t sit right with me. I would rather have this generation watch old movies and see how movies have changed since then. If a movie is remade they might not ever want to see the original again. Some old movies are really bad and might be a better movie now if remade with all the special effects. But I would rather watch a new movie with a fresh story. I would rather know there are creative people making movies. I watch a lot of B movies and love them for their creativity and low budget special effects.I actually wrote about this before here.

TDavid from MakeYouGohmm.com says:

Just when I think the sequel train is slowing (it will never stop), Jurassic Park 4 violates the radar. What is Spielberg thinking? OK, I’m sort of interested in Indiana Jones 4, but at the present time have 0.000000001% interest in Jurassic Park 4.

Sequels I don’t have a lot of problems with. Some movies I actually would love to see a sequel so I can follow the characters experiences. “[tag]Harry Potter[/tag]“ and “[tag]Star Wars[/tag]“ are a good example of a sequels I enjoy. Each one of those sequels were different and had a refreshing story. There are some sequels who come out just because the first movie was popular. Other sequels are franchises like “[tag]Friday the 13th[/tag]“ or “[tag]Halloween[/tag]“, which I loved watching. “[tag]Jurassic Park[/tag] 4″ could be a fun movie but I would rather see a fresh new dinosaur movie. There must be other writers that can write about a whole new story about dinosaurs. I’d rather see a movie that I don’t know anything about instead of something that continues a story I knew about. So Stop with the remakes and only make sequels for a good story.

Time as a big issue

h1 Friday, May 20th, 2005

Doing business at home and being your own boss is fantastic! But I sometimes have problems with time! I have been trying to get more organized with all my work but It’s been a big problem at times. The night before I promised myself I’d finish my project tomorrow. When the next day comes around I sit in front of my computer and do something else. It’s not like I forget about the project. It’s the fact I’d rather do something else. Couple of years ago I didn’t have this problem. At this point I need to find out why I am like this NOW and how to rectify this. I have so many reasons to get my act together but am not using my time effectively. I know I’ll be able to figure this out. It’s just been on my mind a lot now. I love what I am doing and know this is what I want to do in the future. So why can’t I get my act together? I’ll try to finish one of my projects today.

What to write in a blog.

h1 Friday, May 13th, 2005

My biggest problem is thinking of things to write about. I have a lot of interests but are they of interest to others? Maybe I shouldn’t even think about it and just write. Sometimes I have too much to say about something passionately I believe in and other times I can’t think of one sentence. I know I would never be a good novel writer.

I’ve been following reality tv mostly and I guess the big thing that has happened actually yesterday is the [tag]MPAA[/tag] closing down some tv torrent places. Now I understand why they need to do this but I have no other way of getting shows from other countries. Shows that come to the U.S from other places usually will be redone instead of showing the show as it was intended to be. I am a big fan of [tag]big brother[/tag] but the version over here is such a different beast. I like it but in a different way. The Australian version seems so much passionate and interactive with the audience. The UK version is similar but doesn’t have that soul that the Australian one does. So now I can’t get some of the shows from the [tag]torrent[/tag] sites anymore. I know of other ways to get them but that’s not the point. I have no legal way of getting shows that I like. I know they are thinking of having pay per download of shows and I’m all for that but it’s not comming fast enough! I would be happy to pay for downloading a tv show that I missed or can’t get in the states.Maybe a $1 for each episode or something. I don’t want to wait for the dvd to come out. Don’t need the extras just to see the show that I missed. I don’t have tivo and rarely watch TV. I like watching stuff on my time and not the networks time. Oh well I’ll just have to see what happens.

New Year

h1 Monday, January 17th, 2005

It’s the new year and what a year it is. With all the stuff happening in the world it’s going to be interesting. Some things are new in our research of outer space so I’m really excited. Some of my favorite shows will be comming up soon. [tag]Survivor[/tag] and [tag]apprentice[/tag]! [tag]Big Brother[/tag] will be comming up in a couple of months. I try to watch them from the UK and Australia also. The other big brothers are hard to find and I wouldn’t be able to understand what is happening. This stuff always gets me excited!

Happy New Year

h1 Monday, January 3rd, 2005

It’s 2005 finally. Another Year and more work. [tag]Christmas[/tag] day was fun. [tag]New years[/tag] was a non event but that’s ok. Played some new games I got. [tag]Roller coaster 3[/tag] is a lot of fun but it does take a little to get used to. Can be hard if you don’t update right away! Now I got the basic process to win some of the scenarios and it’s getting easier. I got [tag]Sims 2[/tag] also and It’s interesting but haven’t played it fully yet. Looks promising but lot of time to figure things out which I don’t have. I took a week break from work so now this week I’m prepared to work non stop.
I have a new niece and was born last week. That’s going to be fun getting to know another person in the family. Lot of things changed for good and bad last year so I hope this year will continue with the good. My best wishes for everyone in the world including the Tsunami victims. I still can hardly believe how devasting it was. Shows how much power water can give. Never underestimate the power of water!

Christmas Time

h1 Thursday, December 23rd, 2004

It’s christmas time again when family gets together and have some fun. Christmas is two days away and it’s getting excited. I don’t look forward to the presents. I look forward to getting together and watching the kids get there presents. I wonder when did it change for me? As a child christmas was only about presents for ME! Now I think about how much fun the kids will have with their new toys. Somewhere between being a child and becoming an adult things changed for me.

Politics isn’t everything

h1 Thursday, November 4th, 2004

I don’t like politics very much. Everyone wants you to pick a side. The right or the left and then they judge you on that. I am in the middle somewhere. I lean more to the right on most issues but others I lean to the left. I vote for who I think will be right for the country not for the party. This time I wasn’t too happy with Bush. But I also wasn’t too thrilled about Kerry. Without going into a political debate with this post I decided to vote for Kerry. I was a little let down with the Bush win but I could still live. I really was happy when Ashcroft stepped down. Didn’t like him one bit! Well I’ll live with it and we’ll all be OK. Think positively!
