Doctor Who Season 2

h1 Thursday, April 27th, 2006

Another post which I should have posted weeks ago. I have so many topics on my mind I need to write about. As in previous posts you might know I am a big fan of Dr. Who. It was one of my favorite shows when I was young. As you might know the BBC, in the UK, has started producing new adventures of Dr. who last year. Doctor #9, played by Christopher Eccleston, made his appearance in season 1. (actually season 27 in the full who history)
This year, Season 2 has started on April 15th with all new adventures and enemies! I don’t want to give away anything for the people who are watching season 1 in America so I won’t explain too much about the changes. The first season of Dr. Who will be coming out in DVD on July 4th. Look for it in stores like buy.com! I really hope SciFi will show Season 2 soon because the only way for me to watch it now is downloading off the internet. If it was possible I’d pay for the privilege of downloading it from BBC but still no option for me to do that.
I will write a review on season 2 in another post. I just wanted to make sure everyone knew that there is a season 2 being shown in the UK so let’s hope scifi will pick it up this year!!

Doctor Who In America

h1 Sunday, April 23rd, 2006

I haven’t been posting much for a couple of months and I have missed so much so I’ll try to catch up as much as I can. I posted in a previous post last year about the first season of doctor who showing in the UK. Actually season 1 is season 27 if you look at the previous doctor who history. Couple of months ago I heard that the Scifi channel bought the rights to show the first season of doctor who from the UK on their cable channel. They started showing it on March 17th and is showing episodes every Friday at 9pm/8pm central. If you were a fan of Dr. Who before then you really should check this new season out! If you are a scifi fan then you will love this show! It’s all about time travel and such great stories.

A dalek stolen!

h1 Saturday, June 11th, 2005

Like I have mentioned before, I am a big fan of Dr. Who. While I was wandering the news sites, I found this article about a stolen dalek! Find it really funny the quote:

A spokesman said: “There may be a black market out there for Daleks - but it’s still a strange thing to steal.”

Now someone has sent back the plunger with a ransom note. They want to talk to the Doctor. Here’s the article about the ransom note. The other funny thing is that a previous actor who played the doctor has been in contact and might be sending a note back to the dalek kidnappers.

Doctor who and Reality TV

h1 Thursday, June 9th, 2005

Now I’m a big fan of reality TV. So much that I look around for other reality TV show from other countries. Big Brother is one of my favorites to watch. Love watching how people try to get along with each other and how it all ends up. I’ve been watching the UK version for weeks now and loving the arguments and mischief they get into!
I am also a fan of Doctor Who. I watched it when I was young in the 80’s on PBS stations. The only way I was able to watch them in U.S. Now Doctor who has came back in 2005. I am watching it the only way I can. Downloading it from places that provide it on the internet. I would rather have it available in the united states but no such luck. I’d even be willing to pay bbc a couple of bucks to watch each episode. But no such option. What am I supposed to do? I have sent requests to scifi.com and bbc america with no luck yet. I will have to do what I am doing now until I have the option of getting it the legal way.
Both of these worlds will be intermingling next week with doctor who visiting a Big brother show in the future on a space station of some sort. I am very excited about this and hope it will be a fun show. Doctor who against Big Brother is an interesting concept. Also in the previews we get a glimpse of daleks! They return in a massive display of power.
