Big Brother UK Let Down?

h1 Tuesday, August 16th, 2005

I just have to get my frustration out right now. I am a big fan of The tv show [tag]Big Brother[/tag]. I watch the UK, Australia and the US versions. The UK and Australia versions have ended. This year I had my favorites for both series. My favorite from UK was Eugene. The rest of the housemates besides Mary made me uneasy and mad. Didn’t like how they fought all the time. Wasn’t impressed with their conversations or team spirit.

Mary was a very unique woman. She was very spiritual and knew at the beginning who the rest of the housemates were. Makosi was great at the beginning but she got too big headed with herself. I finally got fed up with her after she let Kemal think she was a mole. Roberto was a hot head and wanted everyone to be like him. Vanessa and Sam were lukewarm with me. Vanessa didn’t make me feel for her at all. Sam didn’t deserve the hatred she got from Lesley and the crowds. Lesley was way too opinionated and didn’t want to listen to anything. Craig should really look back on his behavior and learn from it. He needs a lot to learn about life. Kemal was a character but drove me crazy with his screams. Saskia was ok until she formed her team and thought she was too good to mingle with the others. End Of! I have to admit that I liked Maxwell. He was a character and funny but too hotheaded. Science was interesting and had lot of good things to say. His biggest trouble is that he didn’t listen and didn’t back down. Derek was a very intriguing person. A manipulator and a sweet man all at the same time. He can be a bit too aggressive with his words. He can also be very kind and caring to others. I did like him. Kinga was way over the top! She was great entertainment. Orlaith was just a pretty woman to look at and Not much else. Anthony was always in the background doing his thing. He was entertaining at times and boring sometimes. He didn’t give me the entertainment I would think a winner should give. Eugene was funny, witty and very nice. He entertained me very much. I might be a bit biased because I am a geek like Eugene. It’s nice to see someone who is entertained by the little things in big brother. I really wanted him to win!! I can live with Anthony as the winner, though.

But the next post will be about the winner of the Australia Big Brother and I am not happy about it at all!

A dalek stolen!

h1 Saturday, June 11th, 2005

Like I have mentioned before, I am a big fan of [tag]Dr. Who[/tag]. While I was wandering the news sites, I found this article about a stolen [tag]dalek[/tag]! Find it really funny the quote:

A spokesman said: “There may be a black market out there for [tag]Daleks[/tag] – but it’s still a strange thing to steal.”

Now someone has sent back the plunger with a ransom note. They want to talk to the Doctor. Here’s the article about the ransom note. The other funny thing is that a previous actor who played the doctor has been in contact and might be sending a note back to the dalek kidnappers.

Doctor who and Reality TV

h1 Thursday, June 9th, 2005

Now I’m a big fan of [tag]reality TV[/tag]. So much that I look around for other reality TV show from other countries. Big Brother is one of my favorites to watch. Love watching how people try to get along with each other and how it all ends up. I’ve been watching the UK version for weeks now and loving the arguments and mischief they get into!
I am also a fan of Doctor Who. I watched it when I was young in the 80′s on PBS stations. The only way I was able to watch them in U.S. Now [tag]Doctor who[/tag] has came back in 2005. I am watching it the only way I can. Downloading it from places that provide it on the internet. I would rather have it available in the united states but no such luck. I’d even be willing to pay bbc a couple of bucks to watch each episode. But no such option. What am I supposed to do? I have sent requests to scifi.com and bbc america with no luck yet. I will have to do what I am doing now until I have the option of getting it the legal way.
Both of these worlds will be intermingling next week with doctor who visiting a [tag]Big brother[/tag] show in the future on a space station of some sort. I am very excited about this and hope it will be a fun show. Doctor who against Big Brother is an interesting concept. Also in the previews we get a glimpse of [tag]daleks[/tag]! They return in a massive display of power.

Monday TV Show Thoughts

h1 Monday, May 16th, 2005

Having one of those days when I can’t think of anything to talk about. [tag]Survivor[/tag] ended on sunday and I expected the outcome many weeks ago. When Stephanie was voted out I knew Tom had everyone under his control. I also knew if Tom got to the end the jury would vote for him over anyone else. So I got a bit bored after awhile. Hoping someone would be smart enough to vote out tom but nobody could. Stephanie was the only player that could have changed the game but Caryn messed everything up for everyone but Tom. Don’t get me wrong, Tom definitely deserved it. He did what was needed to win in survivor but I still thought there were chances for others to win also but they were under Tom’s spell.

Apprentice is another show I watch and this week is the end of that show too. I am hoping Kendra will win over Tana. If Kendra doesn’t win I’d be very sad. I am so glad that a woman will win this time. I truly thought Jennifer should have one the 2nd one but she didn’t.

Two non-reality shows I am watching is 24 and Lost. I’m excited about the end of Lost. I want to know the secrets and see what happens. I am kind of tired with 24. I hate waiting for a week to see what happens next. It’s like cliff hanger every week. Cliff hangers are fun but not every week. I might stop watching after this season. I will watch this season finale just so I’ll know everyone is saved at the end.

What to write in a blog.

h1 Friday, May 13th, 2005

My biggest problem is thinking of things to write about. I have a lot of interests but are they of interest to others? Maybe I shouldn’t even think about it and just write. Sometimes I have too much to say about something passionately I believe in and other times I can’t think of one sentence. I know I would never be a good novel writer.

I’ve been following reality tv mostly and I guess the big thing that has happened actually yesterday is the [tag]MPAA[/tag] closing down some tv torrent places. Now I understand why they need to do this but I have no other way of getting shows from other countries. Shows that come to the U.S from other places usually will be redone instead of showing the show as it was intended to be. I am a big fan of [tag]big brother[/tag] but the version over here is such a different beast. I like it but in a different way. The Australian version seems so much passionate and interactive with the audience. The UK version is similar but doesn’t have that soul that the Australian one does. So now I can’t get some of the shows from the [tag]torrent[/tag] sites anymore. I know of other ways to get them but that’s not the point. I have no legal way of getting shows that I like. I know they are thinking of having pay per download of shows and I’m all for that but it’s not comming fast enough! I would be happy to pay for downloading a tv show that I missed or can’t get in the states.Maybe a $1 for each episode or something. I don’t want to wait for the dvd to come out. Don’t need the extras just to see the show that I missed. I don’t have tivo and rarely watch TV. I like watching stuff on my time and not the networks time. Oh well I’ll just have to see what happens.

Amazing Race Thoughts

h1 Wednesday, May 11th, 2005

Well I am a reluctant [tag]Amazing Race[/tag] fan. But I really don’t like it because it’s not a race in my eyes. I call it an Amazing Adventure. A race wouldn’t have all racers stop to wait for a store or a place to open. I can live with the plane departures because there is a chance teams can find better departure times. I understand they need to bunch up or the show would have been boring. Someone could easily get days ahead of other teams if there wasn’t the bunching up factor. So for me it’s a love and hate thing with this show.

I watched Amazing Race 7 till the end and enjoyed it very much. I was happy to see Uchenna & Joyce Win. They deserved to win because of who they are. They treated everyone with respect and played the game for themselves not just to win over one particular team. I think if you try to win over one team then you forget about every other team and can make mistakes just like Susan/Patrick and Lynn/Alex. I would have been equally happy if Rob/Amber won because they played the game and were always thinking ahead of others. Sometimes that thinking allowed them to be first and other times it cost them their lead. The fact that they are a reality tv winner already is an important point. It is unfair but I think the race is already flawed anyway. It’s geared for the television audience and not to the racers. I remember there was another show that was on NBC at the same time as AR came on. It was a race with no rules. The teams got placed somewhere they didn’t know with no money and had to get back to hawaii I think. Now that was a Real Race! no bunching up because they could take a plane, train, car or ship. But of course it was boring. Not very much intermingling of the racers and was obvious who was going to win. I could go on more but I will stop.

New Year

h1 Monday, January 17th, 2005

It’s the new year and what a year it is. With all the stuff happening in the world it’s going to be interesting. Some things are new in our research of outer space so I’m really excited. Some of my favorite shows will be comming up soon. [tag]Survivor[/tag] and [tag]apprentice[/tag]! [tag]Big Brother[/tag] will be comming up in a couple of months. I try to watch them from the UK and Australia also. The other big brothers are hard to find and I wouldn’t be able to understand what is happening. This stuff always gets me excited!
